350 Rutland County engages, educates and collaborates with people and organizations in Rutland County to work for climate crisis solutions.
Our Projects
Gardening for Success
We have been participating in the establishment and maintenance of a fruit orchard, pollinator garden, and shading of the pump track at the Success School of Rutland Public Schools at the Allen Street Campus since 2002. We have secured numerous grants from Hills and Hollows to purchase fruit and shade trees as well as perennial plants. We enjoy sharing our skills with the students, and seeing the vision of a sustainable campus come to fruition.
Bicycle Exchange Program
We have been facilitating a bicycle exchange program for many years on a shoestring budget. We collect gently used bicycles, refurbish them and donate them to anyone in the community in need of bicycle transportation. Many of our bikes have found new homes with our refugee families, as well as kids from the Mentor Connector. In 2025, we received a grant from the Rutland City Rotary Club to purchase 30 helmets and locks for our program. This year, we secured a grant from the M&T Charitable Foundation to purchase 30 helmets.
Tree Planting in Rutland City
We have collaborated with the Rutland City Arborist since 2021 to plant trees to enhance the city scape and public parks in Rutland City. Some of our projects have included students from the Rutland High School Environmental Club. We have also participated with the Mettowee Valley Conservation Corp in planting along tributary streams in Pawlet to strengthen the Mettowee watershed.

Note: 350VT allocates 90% of node donations to that group, and maintains a 10% admin fee for the larger org.
